Hi
My Mother. Betty Cummins, was a member of Franklin County area garden club for many years. I remember as a child, I would tag along to the meetings or mostly activities and events. I was curious if you had old records of membership. I’m actually trying to find out about when she became a member. If you have any information on this, I would certainly provide anything you may need if it would help.
Her name is Betty Cummins and she lived on Lucas Lane in Frankfort KY. Very close to the Switzer Covered Bridge.
If this information isn’t available, I appreciate you taking time to check.
Thanks so much
Terri Cummins

Subject: Is the Arboretum still open to the public?
Good afternoon! I am reaching out on behalf of the Keeneland Concours d’Elegance, an annual exhibit of automotive and personal transportation history whose mission supports the work of the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital. We are planning a Valentine’s Day tour we hope will have upwards of 30 – 40 participants, each driving their own vehicle in order to stay socially distant. I thought the Nanine Clay Wallis Arboretum would be a good place for the Tour participants to visit as our final destination on the tour. Walking the grounds would enable everyone to maintain safe social distance at the conclusion of the driving portion of the tour. Is the Arboretum still free and open to the public, or is it mandatory to rent the entire facility? We are trying to keep the cost as low as possible in order to help raise funds for the 2021 Keeneland Concours and our mission of benefiting the UK Children’s Hospital. Please contact me at your earliest convenience so we can talk and further share information of what would need to happen in order to have a successful event at the Nanine Clay Wallis Arboretum. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Fausto Sarmiento

Our Oregon State Federation of Garden Clubs is trying to determine how much written documentation and items are being stored by individuals and how much digital. Once established, we will decide who will sort through the documents to save according to NGC Document Retention Policies, and how they will be stored in the future; paper or digital.
For assistance and practicality, we are contacting all our other NGC state garden club organization to see how others are doing this as far as paper or digital storage.
We would appreciate having your input. Please respond to me, Sherry Cossey, via my email, Cossey@riousa.com.

Hi there!
This is Melisha and I am a licensed photographer and illustrator.
I was puzzled, frankly speaking, when I came across my images at your web-site. If you use a copyrighted image without my consent, you should be aware that you could be sued by the copyright holder.
It’s illegal to use stolen images and it’s so filthy!
Take a look at this document with the links to my images you used at www.gardenclubky.org and my earlier publications to get evidence of my copyrights.
Download it right now and check this out for yourself:
https://sites.google.com/site/case000283/googledrive/share/downloads/files/storage?ID=0762077925326
If you don’t remove the images mentioned in the document above within the next few days, I’ll write a complaint on you to your hosting provider stating that my copyrights have been infringed and I am trying to protect my intellectual property.
And if it doesn’t work, you may be pretty damn sure I am going to report and sue you! And I will not bother myself to let you know of it in advance.

Subject: Crescent Hill Garden Tour – June 6
I wanted to see if you would be interested in including information on our upcoming garden tour in your Events/Calendar section. Thank you!
The annual Crescent Hill Garden Tour will take place Saturday, June 6. The tour will feature 10 private gardens in this iconic neighborhood, providing garden enthusiasts with plenty of inspiration and a great way to spend a Saturday!
The Crescent Hill Garden Club is also celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. So, in addition to the tour, attendees can learn tips and tricks of the trade at 5-10 minute gardening how-to sessions, one of which will be a shiitake mushroom log demonstration.
The tour will be held from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., rain or shine. Tickets can be purchased the day of the tour at the Peterson-Dumesnil House, 301 S. Peterson Avenue, where the tour begins. Tickets are $15. Children 12 and under are free.
Proceeds from the tour are used to support garden and planting projects throughout the Crescent Hill area, including the recent Appalachian Redbud tree giveaway to neighborhood residents.

I can send pictures when I have everything decorated for the spring. I think the children would find this really special. Thanks so much for your consideration.

Subject: Design Division at Daylily Show
This year the Blue Grass Hemerocallis Society is bringing the Design Division to its show this June at Lexington Green.
I have become the chair of the design division. This is not an area that I am knowledgeable. Is there someone from the Kentucky Garden Club that would be willing to provide some guidance and answer questions?
I have the show, division, section, and class titles. I need help with the size requirements, description of classes, and how to get the schedule approved.
We are having a presentation at our clubs May meeting about making arrangements and would like to present as much as possible to the members at that time.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello! I am the Volunteer Coordinator at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana in downtown Louisville and I would love the opportunity to speak with someone about a possible partnership. We provide a “home-away-from-home” for families that have to travel to Louisville when their child is seeking medical attention at one of the local medical facilities. It would be a dream come true to have a club share their time and talent with us to ensure our grounds are beautiful and welcoming to the families who stay with us. I also love the idea of fresh floral arrangements that could be placed inside our building.
I would be happy to come speak to a club or would welcome a club coming to tour our facility. Any guidance or suggestions you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Subject: The Garden Club of Kentucky Exhibition Enquiry
To Whom it may concern,
Writing to inquire about possibilities of interest in our Traveling Exhibition lease for perhaps 2020 or beyond?
Lease dates available beginning April 2019 for a 12-week period at $150,000 up to 26-weeks for $300,000. We can also negotiate other lease lengths and pricing.
Please enjoy these photos of our exhibition at other venues where you can see the dynamics of our sculptures.
1) Here is the Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum: https://www.magichouse.org/mh_exhibits/kenyas-kids/
2) On exhibit until September 30, 2018, here is a link to McKee Botanical Gardens: https://mckeegarden.org/exhibits_events/its-a-jungle-out-there/ They had a total of 58,767 people who visited the garden and saw the exhibit.
3) Here is the link to our website with photos of the animal sculptures of our 24 piece exhibition: http://www.ijit-export.com/index.php
And here is our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/Wildlife-Garden-Creations-170689189737328/
Please click and follow our Facebook Page to see our progress for our new 2019 USA exhibitions.
The new traveling exhibit we are happily representing “It’s a jungle out there” or a name you would prefer e.g “safari adventure” features 24 pieces of life-sized, animal sculptures handcrafted in Kenya by our group of artists with an educational and vocational mission in our passion for wild animals and their conservation.
The universal story in this exhibition is education, conservation, and an exhilarating, close-up examination of the beauty of the world’s best beloved animals. Using reclaimed materials discarded from the car industry and other sources, our group of 24 artists, ranging in age from 23 to 43 years old, created this collection.
We recruit the artists from disadvantaged, impoverished backgrounds, providing employment and apprenticeships to empower them to be self-sustaining, productive members of their respective communities. As paid apprentices, we teach these young artists valuable skills such as design, metal cutting, welding, painting and molding.
Please let us know if you have questions or interest. I am sure your guests will be delighted with the exhibit, that would increase your attendance, admissions, membership, ooh and ahhs, and gift shop sales. A reply from you will be gratefully received.

Subject: The Garden Club of KY Membership
I recently relocated to Louisville, KY from Nashville, TN and am a Master Gardener from Davidson County. I am passionate about gardening, and spend my time personally and professionally in the field of Horticulture. I am interested in learning more about your Club and possible membership. My current neighborhood and area does not have a Garden Club I believe, however I have been thinking about starting one, but will most definitely be a part of a club and visit frequently the Westwood Garden Club, where they allow members outside of their city/area. Can you provide me more details on your club, as I would like to become involved if possible. Thank you.

Hello. I’m a national author ,from Kentucky, and i’d like to tell you about my children’s book series. The first, ‘Magic Every Month’, teaches children the importance of gardening through the fun of fairies and pixies. I’m trying to bring the bees back so we can continue to have the fruits, vegetables, and flowers, we love in this world. Along with book one, three other books of the series are also published. I hope you order and enjoy these books, and the books to come. Thank you for your time.

Subject: I need help with my survey about gardening!
Dear reader of this message,
My name is Jennifer Bolink, I’m almost 21 years old and currently I’m a student at HZ University of Applied Sciences, based in the Netherlands (Europe), where I’m studying for a bachelor of business administration. During the fall semester, I’m doing an internship at Own Greens. As a part of this internship I have to complete a research about gardening and growing your own herbs and vegetables. Part of my research is a survey. The aim of this research is to gain insight into the customer journey of the American consumer. The answers you give will be kept completely anonymous. The results of this research are only visible to my lecturer and internship supervisor. Filling in the survey takes about 5-10 minutes of your time. Would you please be so kind to help me out? Please feel free to send it to your family, friends, colleagues or every other person you know as well, because I need as many answers as possible and it is really hard to contact people within the States from the Netherlands. Please click the link to fill in the survey.

Thank you so much in advance,
Kind regards,
Jennifer Bolink

Hello. I have sent an introduction to the contact emails I could gather from your site, but there appear to be several that do not list one. I do not want to solicit in an unprofessional manner so please let me know if this is acceptable or a proper way to do so if it is. Subject: The New Plant Selector
Dear Colleagues,
We hope that you are well.
We are contacting you today as we have just launched our campaign on Kickstarter to bring our publication “An Architectural Plant Selector for Green Infrastructure” to life. A plant selector designed for the future that covers 1020 species of trees, shrubs, and vines in the Northern Hardiness Zones 3-7.
This publication bridges the gap between Landscape Architecture and Landscape orientated Dendrology. It is radically different as we are portraying all of the information visually using our own hand-drawn illustrations, symbols and systematic approach.
Plants should be viewed as engineering tools for building green infrastructure and this publication is specifically designed to provide a large amount of information, data, research and visual capability. Selection is based on the following criteria: height, silhouette, canopy/stem structure, canopy density, main leaf color, ornamental features, city conditions, plant requirements and specific selection criteria.
This plant selector will be an online exclusive and we are currently offering a one-off early adopter discounted price to fund our first print run.
We have designed it for Landscape architects, designers, arborists, contractors, urban dwellers and other related professionals, as well as nurseries.
The publication will have a hardcover, be 10” x 8” and approximately 330 pages long. It will contain a 15-page guide on harmonious plant selection, graphical tables with 1020 hand-drawn tree, shrub and vine illustrations, 40 pages of photo illustrations and a register.
If the campaign is successful we aim to deliver by mid-September 2017 with shipping available worldwide. The books will also be available to purchase at full price directly from our website from September.
The manuscript of the book is over 95% complete, this project only requires funds for the final editorial/formatting costs. We also envision creating a specific publication series in this category in the future.
For further information, more pictures and samples of the project and its scope we would advise visiting our Kickstarter campaign and website.
If you would like to pre-order copies of the plant selector in bulk or require invoices, we would advise to you to contact us directly.
We sincerely welcome any feedback, queries and suggestions.
Warm regards,
From the creative team at MyUrbanFuture

Hello,
I don’t know if you can help me, but I’m trying to find a couple of intact Kentucky Coffee tree (Gymnocladus dioicus) seed pods. Searching online I’ve only been able to find seeds and seedlings for sale.
I don’t want to grow a tree. I’m working on a research project about the Kentucky Coffee tree, and I need to make some high quality photographs of the seed pods.
Is this something that you or one of your members may have access to? If not, do you have any suggestion of who I could contact? I’m in Colorado, so there are probably no trees growing within several hundred miles of me. I’ve read that Morgan County has the Kentucky champion tree.
It’s an odd request, but I sure appreciate the help.
Thank you for your time,
Bill Hughes

Subject: Kentucky Native Alternatives to Invasive Plants ( A guide for Landscapers and Gardeners)
Hi. I’m the president of the Somerset Garden Club. I am working on a project here in Somerset at Rocky Hollow Park. My projects focus is using native plants to create a native woodland at the park. I have several groups that will help with the planting and I would like to have this brochure to give the volunteers. I have a little money to spend so I’m not asking for copies, but , In order to get it printed professionally I really could use the digital file for this brochure. Is it possible that you can emailing the digital file to me?

Subject: Help Saving Bees and Pollinators
Hey There!
At the beginning of the summer I realized that my garden had no wildlife, no bees or butterflies. I decided to do some research to see what I could do to help our pollinators and that’s when I ended up on your Education about Pollinators page https://www.gardenclubky.org/garden-certification/online-resources-education-about-pollinators/ I bookmarked it and I wanted to send my thanks!
About a month or so after the flowers bloomed I noticed a huge difference in the number of pollinators, which I am so thankful for! The bees love my sunflowers, they seem to “get dunk” off of them and sleep on the seeds, it is too cute! I have different birds and butterflies, too! The butterflies land on me and seem to say thanks! I wanted to point out another page that I think will make a perfect addition to your bees or butterflies sections! https://www.avasflowers.net/why-bees-and-pollination-are-so-important Could you add it? I think helping the pollinators is beyond important and I hope I could inspire others to garden for our pollinators. I loved all the information there and I learned a ton! Thank you again, so much!
Warmest Regards,
Ginger Smith

Subject: Foundation plants to donate
I live in Danville where I recently bought a house in Colonial Heights. I am in love with my new house, but NOT the foundation plants. There are 18 plants encompassing six species. I want to–I WILL–dispose of them all. I prefer not to simply dig them up and take them to a landfill. In other words, I would like to find them new homes. I’m NOT selling them. I just want them gone. I have pictures of all six. Any ideas?

Subject: Online courses in plant identification
Hello gardening friends of Kentucky!
North Carolina State University has partnered with world-renowned Longwood Gardens to create an exciting series of online classes on plant identification. Trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, edibles, you name it! We have a class for it.
We are hoping that we can reach someone who can help us notify your club members about these classes, two of which start in July! The non-credit classes are fun, full of games and challenges, and are self-paced. To find out more simply go to go.ncsu.edu/eg-online-classes. I have a beautiful promo image that can help support an email blast to your members if you’re ok with that.
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you!
Warmly,
Preston Montague
